Drive More Traffic To Your Blog And Website With These 6 Tips And Monetize Your Blog

Your Money And My Good Looks Without traffic, your blog or website doesn't really make any difference. Readers make actions happen and surprisingly, it's not that difficult if you know where to go to get those visitors.

Here are six ways to drive traffic to your site:

Twitter

It's true, Twitter is all that and a bag of chips. You might think tweeting is for the birds, but with my first tweet came about 25 more people in about two minutes to my site. I posted a link in the comment box after shrinking it in HootSuite (makes posting faster) with a couple of key hash tags and there it was. It got the ball rolling for traffic.

Later, I learned more about hash tags and how to use them. I also started making sensational teaser headlines peaking the interest of the tweeter. I also started mass following people I wanted to make sure saw my tweets and who are interested in the same thing. I follow them, they follow me. Within a few days I had over 190 followers and I'm still climbing. I tweet, they read. Don't be afraid to tweet your own horn!

Facebook

Sometimes people think this is another worthless waste of time, but I noticed the amount of traffic from my postings on Facebook quadrupled when I posted my links to articles. I have a very wide circle of friends who like my articles. They click on the links for both my blog and Associated Content which in turn brings me readership and money. I'm not writing for the money actually. I'm writing for the ability to say what I want, when I want and how I want. - beats yelling at the family! LOL.

BoingBoing.com

One of the best sites to post links to your content and interest the world is BoingBoing.com, you can post links to your site when you've written something BoingBoing worthy. I say worthy, because you don't want to spam them and you don't want to abuse the privilege of associating with a great site like this. Review their site and see if you've got anything relative to their content to tell their readership. If not, find some site within your niche of blogging which is relevant.

They have a Submit A Link which takes you to their Submittorator. It's best to sign up for the site as a regular contributor.

Best Reviewer

A new site, the content is written by people who want to post the Top 5 or Top 10 in a category of their choosing. The good thing about this is you can choose to write between 2 - 20 excellent pieces of content which link back to your own article. For example, if you're writing for Yahoo! Contributor Network/Associated Content, you choose a top 5 then write 250-500 words on each one of those top 5. You now have 5 articles with 5 links to add to Best Review which in turn pays you when someone clicks on your article. Link that to your blog and then you've got more traffic. You write a key article on your blog, link your AC articles on the sidebar and put it in Best Review and now you've increased your traffic, your money and your exposure. It takes time but it's worth it in the long run.

Write Articles

Yes - you have to write. You don't have to be a college grad with a journalism background to write. You don't have to have excellent spelling and grammar but it does help. Use a program to spell check and have a proofreader read your articles before you post. Nothing is quite as horrible as finding out you have a huge gaffe in your writing. I like Associated Content because of the stats, the way it looks and their system. I tried Helium which was OK but they don't pay you until you accumulate a certain amount of money. AC pays you every month whether you made 2 cents or $2000. That's what I like! Progress!

Places to write are Helium, Associated Content, eHow, eZine, Article Factory and Article City. These are just a few, you'll have to decide what works best for your own application.
